West of Ireland Open

Brilliant set of results for Alastair at the weekend at the WoI Open in Galway: bronze in the epee on Saturday, then silver in the foil on Sunday! In a huge ME entry (46), Alastair was ranked 12 after the poules, then proceeded to knock out the No.3 seed for his place in the semis against Romanian Laurentiu Ricuta. In the foil a hard fought 15-14 semi-final win against Rory Hayes took him through to the final against Conor Nagle.
